Wishful timing makes a division between the present and an attainable but uncertain future. A distinction that intrinsically can't be correct, as time is time and the present can't be otherwise. This mental construct, however, subjectively marks the present with a quality that renders it less worthy of being experienced, as if experience itself could only be truly experienced upon the realization of a particular event. The nature of the activity of waiting guarantees that you are in the wrong side of the timeline.
In this regard I would tend to side with those who prefer to altogether annihilate the 'waiting' mental construct. In doing this, we can hopefully see that 'whenever we had to wait' we have already arrived to The Present Moment.

O, tal vez, esperar es la la antesala del advenimiento de las sorpresas...
waiting is also the art...of being supportive.
